I will be participating once again in the annual Spring Festival at Nawger Nob in the Townsend Artisan Guild booth.  There will be Fine Arts and Fine Crafts in our booth as usual....new things to see!   All our artists have been busy creating and will display some new works here.  Come and see our works and meet the artists.  Some of us will be around all weekend to talk about our work and the Townsend Artisan Guild.  Hours are 10 to 5 both days.    Come on out!   See you there!!

I will be exhibiting in the Townsend Artisan Guild booth at the Pottery Festival this year.  Last year's festival was such a success that they decided to expand it to two days for 2009....more time to view works in this excellent juried show and to participate in various pottery related activities.   The show runs from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 10 to 5 on Saturday.  Come on out....it will be fun for all....and there will be a pottery making booth just for the kids.   See you there!!   

The Townsend Artisan Guild will have a large tent with our members works of art which will feature fish and outdoor-related works along with others.   I will have some originals and prints available and Tony will display his leather fly rod tubes.  Come for the fun and education sponsored by the Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

In conjunction with the 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Townsend Artisan Guild presents a members show at the GSM Heritage Center in Townsend, TN.  The theme of the show is the National Park.  It will be up for 2 weeks during the Winter Heritage Festival Weekend and the next weekend during the Valentine Love Affair with Townsend from Feb 6 through Feb 15.   Come celebrate this milestone Anniversary of the founding of the National Park, see the Art Show, attend the lectures and dinners, and meet friends, new and old.  Hope to see you there!

FOOTLOOSE IN THE FOOTHILLS is a Holiday Shopping Extravaganza held on Thursday, December 4 from 5-10 p.m.   These are the only hours for this event which will benefit the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service of Blount County and it promises to be a fun whirlwind for 5 hours only...last year there was a huge crowd!  So come join us for a night of fun and get a lot of Holiday shopping done that night.  There will be art, jewelry, decorations galore...all from local artists and craftspeople!  What an opportunity for One-Stop-Shopping!  See you there!

The Townsend Artisan Guild will sponsor a Gallery Tour on Saturday, October 25 to feature our artists at work at various galleries here in Townsend.   I will be demonstrating at Mountain Creations Gallery at Nawger Nob on Highway 321 and there will be lists available there of the participating galleries.  It should be a fun day for all and everyone can watch artists at work and see their works in the galleries.   See you there!

 The new Broadway Galleries at Preservation Plaza (bottom floor) in the heart of Historic Downtown Maryville announces its Opening Exhibition.   You are cordially invited to celebrate with us at a reception on Thursday, October 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening  for wine and hors d'ouevres and to tour the gallery.
I will be one of the exhibiting artists along with Katie Kinney, Katie Gamble, Gloria Nelson.

Several pieces of my clay sculpture will be on exhibit in the main room of the Townsend Visitors Center throughout the month of October.   

 Members of the Townsend Artisan Guild will be showing their works and there will be art and fine crafts for sale during the show.   I will be there with my paintings and drawings and some prints, as well as leather sculpture by my husband, Tony Birdwell.  I will also bring with me a few paintings in my new series of works of European Cityscapes, one of which won First Place in Painting at the Annual Fine Arts Blount Members Show for 2008.
